Creation Bound at Athol SDA Church

Creation Bound Wilderness Survival Camp at
Athol Seventh-day Adventist Church, Athol, Massachusetts

Dates

Easter Weekend; April 6-8, 2012

Goals
To learn more about God's creation by living in it, studying it, and surviving in it. This is a pilot program for the Athol Church and friends. All ages are welcome. Children will require parental participation. No drop offs, please. We need a group of 20 to run the camp.

Activities
Participants will learn how to build shelter, obtain safe drinking water, collect food, fabricate tools and crafts, and everyone's favorite - build fire by rubbing sticks together! All from the natural landscape of the 108-acre church property.

Training Schedule
Friday, April 6 - 9:00 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sabbath, April 7** - 10:00 a.m. - Sundown
Sunday, April 8 - 9:00 a.m. - 5 p.m.

**Pastor Mark Gagnon (Primary Tent at SNEC Camp Meeting) is preparing a special worship service Sabbath morning, so we will have worship and potluck at the Athol Church. After lunch, Creation Bound will start teaching again around 1 p.m.

Camping
If the logistics of camping out are difficult, it may detract from the learning and enjoyment of the program, and we don’t want that to happen. So, it may be better for families with younger children to go home for the night and return in the morning, well-rested, happy, and ready to go. Where is it practical, others are encouraged to perhaps spend one night out. Males can camp out in the big teepee with Jason Blakeney, Creation Bound Founder/Owner. We will have access to the church bathrooms and water during the weekend.

From Jason “Ace” Blakeney - Founder/Owner of Creation Bound
"The idea of Creation Bound was born many years ago. Growing up in West Virginia, I spent more nights sleeping outdoors than in. Most mornings I would wake to the horses eating just outside my shelter. I was mostly self-taught when it came to horsemanship and living outdoors. I slowly picked up bits of information from books, people, the horses, and the land. I spent most days exploring the forests and mountains for miles around, usually on horseback. By the time I was 14, I was capable of living outdoors on my own, with or without my horse, for extended periods of time."

"Back when I was younger I began to think I would really like to take others outdoors to experience the things I had discovered. But I felt unqualified to do so as I had not studied nature formally nor been mentored by any renowned outdoorsman or naturalist. Even though I had doubts in my abilities as a teacher and outdoorsman, I never lost the calling to someday help others learn to live in and see the outdoors as I did. Eventually, I realized that the things we can learn about creation are limitless. I can never know "enough". I learned that skills and knowledge were not what I truly wanted to share, but the experience. I have seen creation through a different lens and now look upon it very differently than the majority of "civilized" people. The woods and wild places are a sanctuary to me, to my soul, my physical body, my mental health, and my spiritual walk. This is what I wish to share with others."

"Creation Bound is an experience that can provide a different lens to see creation through, so that you can feel as at home in our Creator’s handiwork as I do. No longer seeing a wilderness but a refuge."

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:20

God's Time Prophets

Guest Speaker Mike Coppolla shared an amazing wealth of information on Biblical time prophets. I attended the afternoon session and was greatly blessed.

This Sabbath, April 24

11 a.m. - Lecture #1

12:30 p.m. - Vegetarian Potluck

2 p.m. - Lecture #2

There are many prophets in the Bible, yet not all are time prophets.  Guest Speaker Mike Coppolla will spotlight seven major time prophets in the Bible, detail the time prophesies associated with them, and show how these incredible prophesies have been fulfilled.

Come and learn the amazing way God bookends the time span of prophecy with his prophets.  He raises one prophet up to give the time prophecy, gathers a remnant around it, and then a second prophet is raised up at the end of the time prophecy.

You won’t want to miss these powerful presentations!

Webinar - Growing Your Own Food - April 4

One ministry that has been real blessing to me has been Back to Enoch Ministry. They focus on helping folk understand the spiritual, mental, and physical benefits of natural living.

Tomorrow, they will harness the power of the internet and offer a great web seminar (webinar) on growing you own food. The presenter will be from Grow Ministries. They say, "Agriculture; God's Farmacy".

This is a great follow-up to our seminar in Athol at 3 p.m. today. Here is the link to register for the webinar.

It will be held Sunday, April 4, 2010 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM PDT (9-11 p.m. Eastern Time)
